HOLM; an inheritance permitted him to devote all his time to phrenology and comparative zoology; lived with SPURZHEIM in Paris and at his father's home in Bedford Sq, London; inherited, with his father, SPURZHEIM'S London collection of skulls and phrenological paraphernalia; became the first person to give a course of lectures on phrenology in a recognized British med school when he began a course of 20 lectures at the London Hospital on 10 Nov 1832; arrested in 1828 and fined £50 for disinterring the bodies of his mother, brother and sister and severing their heads for phrenological study; M LONDON PHREN SOC from 1825 until 1832 when he and a few others (including Sir James.
